*Not Accepting This Title Glisten is a Dallas/Ft Worth-based modern rock band whose debut was released on KMG Records in 1999. They combine retro-80s vocals reminiscent of Depeche Mode, Duran Duran, or The Cure with 90s guitars that sometimes stray into grunge. Produced by Steve Hindalong and Marc Byrd, engineered by Derri Daugherty, and executive produced by Dave Bahnsen and Terry Taylor, it's no accident that these 'greybeards' wanted to help this band launch its debut. The stacked harmonies are so expansive you'll feel like the heavens will part at any moment. They have a knack for marrying a hard alternative style with worshipful lyrics, and those harmonies break in like heavenly cavalry charges to shake the heaviness off. With guest appearances by luminaries ranging from Terry and Derri to Christine Glass and John Catchings, this is a must-have album. Songs include: 'Untainted,' 'Mothership,' 'Encourager,' 'Abandon All,' 'Rejoice,' 'Choose Me,' 'Spotlight,' 'Endless Inch,' 'Honey,' 'Used,' 'Waiting In Latham' and 'The Last Blueshift.' |
