No self-respecting 77s fan can pass this one by, since the members of Strawmen were David Leonhardt and Mark Harmon (now with the 77s), along with Mark's brother Bill on lead vocals. In essence, they were the 'new' 77s with Bill Harmon singing lead vocals rather than Michael Roe, that would be the post-Pray Naked 77s line-up. These songs were recorded in the winter of 1987 into 1988. Originally released independently, Steve Griffith licensed it to Liquid Disc Records and re-issued it with slightly different artwork in 1996. A cross between new wave and early dark alternative rock, these songs (many of which are still played by the 77s) are well written and have withstood the test of time, and gives us an idea what Michael Roe heard that inspired him to re-form the 77s and give the band another shot. Songs include: 'Sometimes,' 'Phony Eyes,' 'Deep End,' 'Come Back,' 'Rattles,' 'Hard To Say,' 'Rant & Rave,' 'Hate'Em,' 'Let Love Live,' 'The Chop,' 'Raging Tomb,' 'Talk To Me,' 'Ray Of Hope,' 'Pick Up the Pieces' and 'If We're So Innocent.'
