Dissonance (1997)

Price Currently Paid for this CD: $2.50

This hip quartet of PKs and YWAMers from Hawaii is an alternative pop-folk-rock group. They released two albums on Joey Taylor's short-lived Innocent Media label. This is their sophomore effort in 1997, produced by Havalina's Matt Wignall, before switching labels. The group is noted musically for its trade-off male/female vocals, moving one critic to describe them as a cross between Sixpence None the Richer and early Dakoda Motor Co. Their lyrics also tackle issues that explore the darker side of human existence, while clearly offering hope in Christ. Their alternative folk harmonies will also attract fans of The Verve Pipe, Oasis, Live, and Radiohead. Songs include: 'Personal Invitation,' 'Salvation,' 'Selfish Love,' 'Hansel & Gretel,' 'Styrofoam,' 'Cry Me To Sleep,' 'Suicide,' 'Sleep,' Free,' 'Trust,' 'Agua' and 'The Smoking Song.'
